Easter Candy. Way too much of it. Georgia got a bunch of jelly beans, gummy bears and chocolate from her preschool and neighborhood egg hunts. Then I, as if the house weren't already overflowing with sugar, bought tons of Peeps and Twizzlers at the grocery Monday because they were marked down.
What I'm Reminiscing About
When my mom was here a couple of weeks ago, we watched a lot of Baby Georgia videos. Most of the tiny baby videos would be boring to non-family, but this one where she tells our nephew Elijah "'bout da zoo" is too cute. I think she was about 20 months old. I'm going to be honest, I can't watch those chubby cheeks, serious expressions, and too-big shoes without tearing up.
What I'm Loving
Last Friday there were so many cute Easter table setting and decor items at Home Goods. So silly me, I decided to mosey on over there yesterday. Things were marked down to 50% off. And they were completely sold out. I managed to snag two cereal bowls and two milk glasses that can go in the girls' Easter baskets next year.
But - the Pottery Barn line I loved isn't yet sold out! These will all go perfectly with a pastel madras plaid table runner I spied at Home Goods. Now my dilemma: do I pull the trigger now or wait and see if there are more price drops and risk not getting them?
What I've Been Up ToMonday we had two playdates. Before lunch we met a new friend at our park who will be in Georgia's class next year. After nap time we had two friends and their one year old twin brothers over. Talk about a party! The girls immediately put on dress-up dresses and hit the trampoline.
Yesterday I really needed to get down to business, so after dropping Georgia off I hit the CFA drive through and took my computer to Starbucks. Where they were completely sold out of the new Honey Latte. I literally have not been to the Bux since October and I was so looking forward to this. Talk about disappointed when I had to make do with a regular caramel frappucino.
What I'm Dreading
Ooooooh, still haven't started on our taxes. I'm ignoring this responsibility until the week they are due. And we're still getting paperwork in the mail, what's up with that?
What I'm Working On
Bit by bit I am getting the house decorated. The living room needs to have chairs reupholstered and some new tables, but I found a couple of small touches. My goal is to have the entire house done by the end of the year. Actually, the playroom probably won't be finished but I want the rest of the house to look showroom-worthy. Or at least worthy of some Pinterest love!
What I'm Excited About
David and I are going on somewhat of a Baby Moon in early April and I can't wait. We haven't had a long weekend away together in a long time. We're actually spending it with friends who I know I won't see for awhile after having the baby, due to lack of time and travel. They are single/kid-free and/or live out of state, so short of traveling with a newborn, it will be awhile until we all hang out together.
What I'm Reading
I picked up Hope Unfolding by Becky Thompson earlier this week. I'm not very far into it, but I have mixed feelings so far. If I end up liking it, I will post a book review.
What I'm Listening To
My Pandora station has been on non-stop Marshall Tucker band. I'm trying to find some good motivating podcasts to listen to while I do things around the house. Please let me know if you have any ideas.
What I'm Doing This Weekend
Georgia and I are going to head to Janie & Jack to try on swimsuits! I'll be buying summer suits for her as well as a couple of matching sister suits for her and Baby Sister to wear on our cruise next winter. Here are some of our favorites (yes, she helped me look for them online). I love their swimsuits because they will hold up for more than one season without fading or pilling, and I also love the retro styles that give full coverage - no bikinis for my babies!

What I'm Looking Forward To
Next month Georgia and I are going with some friends to Kickapoo Kamp for a mother-daughter weekend. Georgia has been talking about it non-stop since I showed her photos of it a couple months ago. It will be a long road trip for us, but I'm excited about spending one-on-one time with an old friend and our girls bonding now that they are older.
Here are the things Georgia is looking forward to: eating gummy bears in the car, sleeping on a bunk bed even though she wants us both to sleep on the same bed, shooting a bow and arrow (I don't think this is going to happen), shooting a gun (really not going to happen).
And she's really disappointed that: we aren't flying, we only get to stay one weekend.
She keeps packing and unpacking her suitcase and lunchbox. Lunchbox contains: a can of Disney Princess chicken noodle soup, applesauce, juice, four packs of fruit snacks. Suitcase contents vary based on what day it is. Recently it was every shoe in her closet + a pair of clean undies.
What Else Is New
Just trying to put together list of things that must get done in the next three months before Baby Sister is set to arrive, and working on coming up with a bucket list for our little family of three before we grow!
