I walked in thinking that I would leave with my hair maybe an inch shorter. As it turns out, my ends were pretty ratty and any kind of color was just going to make them worse. So I told the stylist (not my usual gal) to do what she needed to do. I ended up walking out with color that I really like and a haircut that I don't love, but I can live with it. It's a couple of inches below my shoulders with layers cut in for movement. I'm hoping it doesn't take an incredibly long time to grow back out.
The cut is pretty much the same cut that Reese has here, except that my bangs and shorter layers tend to do this wonky thing with the ends as soon as I walk outside. I wish I had the patience to wear my bangs to the side over my eye. As it is, they don't have this much volume. Maybe mine is just a more realistic, everyday person view of Reese's - ha! I can dream, right?
Ultimately, I want my hair to look like this - definitely Miss Texas hair - I even think this color would look great on me but I'm not ready to commit to full on color just yet.
I found these tips for growing out your hair on Beauty Bets, via Pinterest. I already use some of them, like the Wen Conditioning Shampoo and I am most definitely going to pick up some Aveda Scalp Revitalizer.
I also go this video from BlogHer that gives a hairstyle idea for growing out your bangs. Even though the hairlike headband isn't my style, I will definitely use this technique for different types of headbands.
Another bonus with the video! Watch it then enter your email at the end for a chance to win $$ and gift cards. Only takes a second.
