March 2013 Birchbox Contents Review

All in all, the March Birchbox was pretty good! I found a few new products that I LOVE even if my budget doesn't allow for them right now. Here's the rundown of each product I received.

  • Benetint by Benefit This is something that I’ve been seeing forever on beauty blogs and Sephora ads. I’ve never really wanted to try it since I didn’t know what it was for. After a little experimenting I love this stuff! It’s perfect for those no makeup days when you just need a little color and glow on your cheeks. For instance, last week we had a 7 a.m. flight which meant I got up a little after 5. I wasn’t about to take the time to put on makeup, but once we were close to our destination, I put a little on my cheeks and lips to wake up my face. The only downside is that it dries fairly quickly, so only do one cheek or area at a time! Will I purchase again: Most definitely!
  •  Benefit Concealer So this wasn’t actually a sample as I initially thought. When I peeled back the little window it was a coupon code for a free benefit mascara when you purchase the concealer. Since I’m not a big concealer girl and can probably get another year’s use out of my current tube, I tossed the coupon.

  • Madewell Nail File I haven’t used it yet, but it’s a nail file. I’m sure it will work out fine. Plus, I don’t think it’s a real product that you can purchase, I think it was just made especially for this Birchbox with one of Madewell’s fabric prints on it. Will I purchase again: No, I tend to get a lot of free nail files.

  • Eight Hour Cream Skin Protectant by Elizabeth Arden I thought this was going to be a lotion/cream, but it turns out it’s more like a thick petroleum jelly. After a couple nights of absolutely no sleep the area underneath my eyes was really dry, so I decided to give this a try. Worked like a charm! It was a little sticky but not too much so. By the afternoon my eyes were back to normal, even more hydrated than usual. Then I slapped a little on my lips and cuticles, where it worked equally well. Will I purchase again: It’s a tad pricey so I might grab a little container of Vaseline and see if it works as well.
  • Stella Cadente Perfume by Miss Me This definitely was not for me. I’m learning that I prefer cleaner scents, this one was just way too flowery for me. I would describe it as old lady with a touch of lemon; maybe regular people would say floral with citrus notes. I do like florals, but a less powdery overtone. Will I purchase again: No!

  • Wish by Shave Crave This stuff smells amazing!! It’s like blueberries. It’s a cream, but not foamy. It gave a really close shave and left my legs soft. Will I purchase again: As posh as I am, I’m not one to spend $20 on shave cream no matter how great it smells. I’ll be sticking to my tropical Skintimate.
  • Twistband Headband I had tried Twistband before and I always like it at first until it loses elasticity. I already feel this one slacking. Plus, I just don’t really wear headbands unless they really stay on while I’m working out. This one doesn’t make the cut. Will I purchase again: No, but I wouldn’t mind someone gifting me more Twistband ponytail holders.                                                           This post is being shared at Meg O's Subscription Box Share Linkup.
