Did you know that 1 in 88 children are affected by autism? I didn't, and I really didn't know what autism was until a few years ago when David and I started volunteering with a program at our church and working with autistic children.
We've become close with several of the families the program serves, and now that I'm a mother I have even more compassion than before. I cannot begin to imagine how it would feel to know that I may never hear "I love you Mommy" from Georgia or get any other form of affection from her. And that's just one of the challenges and heartaches facing a family with a child diagnosed with an Autism Spectrum Disorder.
Stella & Dot released the new Shine and Sole bracelets in limited quantities for the month of April. Twenty percent of the proceeds will be donated to Autism Speaks. Additionally, I'll donate any commission generated through my blog to a local autism organization. AND if 8 or more bracelets are sold via my blog, there'll be Stella & Dot gift cards randomly given to the purchasers - from $25 - $200! Click here to buy a Shine or Sole bracelet.
