This Haute Mommy Monday is for all of the haute babies out there - Haute Mommy Blog's Facebook fans got a first peek at the big news I've been holding back on sharing for months! One of my oldest (as in, I've known her longest, not that she's old) and best friends and I started a business!
Brittney and I met at our very first job after college. We spent many long hours and late nights on a Sarbanes-Oxley project for a client. Any time our manager wasn't in the room, we dreamed and schemed of running our own business. I wanted a boutique but didn't want to be tied to working every weekend to keep it running. Brittney was the best at taking my hair-brained ideas and making them into realistic goals.
We eventually quit that first job and went to our second employers together, and ultimately put our business goals on hold to get married, buy houses, obtain our CPAs and start our families. (Oh, she also did my first half marathon with me!) Even before I had Georgia, before I was even pregnant actually, I started researching and contacting children's clothing companies because in the back of my mind, I knew that classic children's clothing was a venture I wanted to pursue. The trends are much less volatile than adult fashions, and every mommy wants her baby to be the best dressed baby ever!
As soon as I had Georgia, Brittney told me we had to get the ball rolling or else she was going back to work. I didn't want to miss my "ladies who lunch" partner in crime (even if we mostly lunched with our babies), so I got serious about things.
We met with store owners, clothing manufacturers, and business owners we admire and eventually designed our own line of smocked children's clothing! Our page is live, so please go like us on Haute Smocks Facebook page where we will host weekly auctions and keep you guys updated on pre-sales. Our e-commerce website is being worked on, so soon you can shop anytime you want. We'll also be having trunk shows in Houston, The Woodlands, Beaumont and possibly Katy. Please email me at email@example.com to be added to our email list for upcoming news, sales and events.
We're so lucky to have our own two little models who will work for free. Georgia and Claire only require a few Cheerios every now and then to stay happy! We're also incredibly blessed and grateful for our husbands Cody and David. They have supported us from day one on our endeavor, and have so much faith in our success that they never even questioned our crazy ideas, when we weren't even sure it would work out.
And David - thanks for bringing home the bacon so I have the time and resources to work on this. IMUVU!
