Workout Wednesday: Tracy Anderson

Since giving birth, I've been on the lookout for a new workout routine.  I lost all of the baby weight (plus a few pounds) within the first couple of weeks, but I don't feel like I'm in shape.

In the past, I've done everything from yoga, to Thirty Day Shred, to running half marathons.  I need a new type of workout to motivate me.

I checked out Tracy Anderson's Thirty Day Method from the library and read it in a day.  I loved what she had to say and I'm dying to know if her transformation will work on me. I would love to have my old legs back, and I'd absolutely kill to have the abs I had during early pregnancy, before the weight gain started but after I'd been having morning sickness.

Alas, I can't really commit to Tracy's full method.  It requires an hour and a half of exercising and a pretty strict diet.  I can't find an extra ninety minutes a day and honestly I have no desire to work out every single day for awhile.  And with breastfeeding, I can't do any sort of dieting, although I do try to eat as healthfully as I can.

Buuuut....we have Blue Ray and I can watch YouTube from my television.  Surely I can find an extra 20 minutes a few times a week to work my abs, legs and arms using these videos.  I simply have to start somewhere and I'm afraid if I don't start scheduling something in, I'll never get back to where I was before.

Has anyone else tried any Tracy Anderson workouts?  How did you like them?

Thanks for posting this! I've been looking for something like this, and I need it to be short. This should be perfect.

Yes! I tried the 30 day method, but just the workout part. I noticed a huge difference, not quickly, but overtime in my arms especially! I love her workouts but I had borrowed it from a friend, so haven't done it since.

Chasity you look amazing! But I understand you want some extra work outs. Have you tried Define yet? They have a Definebaby class on Saturdays - you might try that out and take Georgia with you as a first class? Or you're welcome to pop in with me one day! I go anywhere from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. :)

That's awesome that you lost the baby weight so quickly! But HOW?! I'm back at work and finding time to exercise along with working and spending time with Logan is seeming impossible. I'd love any tips you have! She is beautiful!

Melissa, I'll do a quick post about the baby weight sometime this week.

I have just begun to get serious about getting fit and healthy. This is week one for me on my regime of Weight Watchers and Tracy Anderson workouts. I have the Dance Cardio and Mat Workout DVDs. They kill me, but I do love them. I plan to do a complete review of them in about a month after I can see solid results on www.fatisntfunny.blogspot.com

Good luck to you and congratulations to you and your family for your new arrival! I would love to hear more about how you like Tracy Anderson's workout in the future as well. Cheers!
