Back in the Saddle

After a six month (SIX MONTH!!) hiatus, I started hitting the gym again. And by "hitting the gym" I mean riding the recumbent bike at a leisurely pace while I read a book, no sweat.

Since finding out I'm pregnant, I have worked out three times, all three times were just three or six mile walks at the park. I used to run that daily!

Bed rest and no exercising orders from my doctor the first five weeks really got me out of the habit of going to the gym.  It is nice to be back, though. People I used to see every day say things like, "I can't believe you're still working out!" and I have to tell them that I'm not "still working out" - I'm "finally working out again".

In the two days I've gone to the gym, I can really tell a difference. I don't crave as many sugary drinks or salty foods. I was able to eat more meat than usual and my morning sickness wasn't as bad this morning. I'm also able to drink a ton more water, which is great. I'm going to strive for 30-60 minutes three times a week.
